Keyboard Shorcuts (casablanca) Keyboard Shortcuts (Avio) Separators To Help Organize The Clip Bin

Keyboard Shorcuts Here are the standard keyboard "shortcuts" available in the Casablanca. These are generally only usable wherever you have to scroll through a scene... (Split bar or control bars should be highlighted blue first)

<LEFT-ARROW> or <RIGHT-ARROW> Using these keys will advance or move backwards one scene at a time.  The left arrow moves backwards, and the right arrow moves ahead. If you hold the arrow keys down, you will move forwards or backwards at a speed very close to real time.

<CTRL>+<LEFT-ARROW> or <CTRL>+<RIGHT-ARROW> Using these keys will move you forwards or backwards one full second at a time. Again, if you hold the key combination down, the Casablanca will jump ahead or backwards quickly, in one-second jumps.

<SHIFT>+<CTRL>+<LEFT-ARROW> or <SHIFT>+<CTRL>+<RIGHT-ARROW> This key combination moves you in increments of 10 seconds. Once again, if you hold down the keys you will move very rapidly in the direction selected, but this time in ten second jumps.

<HOME> this key takes you directly to the beginning of a scene.

<END> This key will take you straight to the tail end of a scene. If you have Monument Titler, there are some other keyboard shortcuts that you can use for that program. Look in the back section of the manual for those key combinations.

Separators To Help Organize The Clip Bin
I currently create a 1-frame scene of some strange color and use that as a with the colored clips.

AVIO Shortcuts
Page up and Page Down
When you have Storyboard highlight (the bar is blue) Press Page up or Page down to move two scenes to left/right.
When in Split/Trim either Video or Audio press Page up or Page down to move 2 to 5 second either way.

Shift plus right or left arrow Either way moves to the beginning or end of you timeline when in Split/Trim in Video or Audio.

Home/End Again in Video or Audio Split/Trim moves to front or end of timeline Also works on the Storyboard, moves to front or end, a nice way to move back and forth on the keyboard.

Then also you have your basic one

Arrows left and right to move frame by frame in split/Trim in both Audio and Video.

Escape button. It the Keyboard way of right-clicking out of a window/function also it can be press during recording to abort recording to tape.
